You got a friend in me
So, recently I have been experiencing a good amount of support by writers in the industry. Mainly indie authors, but ones that have established themselves and recently a handful of books.
I appreciate the support and encouragement. Like I discussed before, I wrote a book… I thought that was enough. Nope. There is a whole other part that has absorbed my time to try and get published, and that is shocking to say the least.
So putting my name out there and talking with different people has given me a society of sorts, that wants to see each person out there succeed. These people are both encouraging, but also sometimes brutal in their critiques. And honestly, I appreciate it.
They ask questions that I didn’t think to ask about the world I created or the motivations of different characters. Questions that are less global and more specific. “Why a knife, and not a fist?”, “Why does he eat this, and not this?”, “If the tunnelgoat was given agency, would it still eat the rope?”
You know, typical questions.
I am not sure if you are reading this because you are interested in my future book(s) or if you are a writer yourself. But in either case, find a community to not just support you, but challenge you as well.
Thank you to all those that have given me feedback, input, criticism, and/or encouragement.
